Bellenda
History of the Estate:
The Cosmo family, who own and operate the Bellenda estate today, can trace their roots back to the year 1700, when the family moved to the Vittorio Veneto hills from Venice. They have never left and are still working these same plots of land, alongside their newer acquisitions and innovations. In 1975 the Bellenda estate made the decision to re-plant all of their vineyards. A carefully study was made of the land and exposure, and certain vines were specifically planted to various plots. In 1987 the estate came upon their next big landmark when they released their first vintages under the Bellenda label.
Today 80% of Bellenda's wine production finds its way to external markets in Europe, the US and Japan. However, the Cosmo family still remains committed to the idea that they must continue to expand, to research their wines and wine making techniques, and to properly supply and educate their consumers. Especially within the wines from their secondary label Col di Luna, special attention is paid to certain autochthonous vines, such as Bianchetta and Verdiso, helping to preserve the traditions of their own land and their own family.
